i JUST discovered that the version on the soundtrack is a REMIX! the original Backstreet's Back album version is a slower jam of a track.
Listening back to the radio remix now, i imagine this was created to show some more versatility for the BSB. In Canada at this time, BSB had released "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)", "As Long As You Love Me", and "All I Have to Give" from the album. i think, this time is confusing for me as not being a hardcore-BSB fan as they released their first two albums in Canada but the states got a weird compilation cd. This would lead the average music listener to associate the BSB with more slow ballads, so this remix would be an attempt to show that they are just as good at the uptempos as well.
i found a video of them performing it on the Backstreet Boys cruise in 2018
Bonus! Backstreet on Sabrina!
