did you cry? if you said no, you are a liar. this scene and following one (the one where the two pikachus are exhausted, and Ash's pikachu stops fighting lets the clone pikachu slap him around) ruined me.
watching the clones fighting was sad, but adding this sad song about the pointlessness of fighting made it even worse.
Blessid Union of Souls' added the legit element to the cd. a song by an actual band that played instruments! (M2M did as well btw). I guess their biggest hits were "I Believe" and "Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me)." The Pokemon soundtrack closes out a little preach-y but its still a message that needs to be heard 20 years later.
